Sumatra Takengon – Dark Roast
Cupping Notes: Medium acidity • Syrupy body • Dark chocolate • Dried fruit • Earthy depth • Long, lingering finish
From the mist-covered highlands of Aceh, Takengon, this bold Sumatran coffee embodies the heart of Indonesia’s ancient coffee craft. Grown by the dedicated farmers of the Koperasi Baitul Qiradh Baburrayyan (KBQB) cooperative at altitudes of 1,100–1,600 meters, each bean tells a story of rich soil, mountain rain, and timeless tradition.
Using the traditional Giling Basah (wet-hulling) process unique to Sumatra, the coffee develops its signature earthy sweetness and deep, syrupy body. Notes of dark chocolate intertwine with dried fruit and a whisper of spice and forest floor, creating a cup that’s both mystical and enduring.
As it cools, the flavor lingers, smooth, complex, and hauntingly long, a tribute to the rugged beauty of Sumatra itself.
